For my first (and so far only) “Mockumentary”, director John Hegeman hired me to produce this piece on the backstory of the movie’s villain – even if she really didn’t exist! We licensed numerous historical images, hired a prop maker to create artfully “aged” documentation and combined it all with Hegeman’s carefully staged interviews with local actors to flesh out the villain’s legend. Unfortunately I couldn’t wangle a trip to the movie’s location – South Africa. Sigh.
