To say I’m a Springsteen fan is an understatement, so when HBO hired me to cover Bruce’s Darkness on the Edge of Town documentary premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, I was on a plane. For a brief shining moment it looked like I was going to do a sitdown with The Man himself, but it wasn’t to be. I did interview his legendary manager Jon Landau and amazing documentary director Thom Zimny on the red carpet. When Bruce arrived, the crowd went wild – just like at one of his shows! It’s a brilliant documentary on the making of one of the greatest rock & roll albums of all time.
