May 2018 – on location at Guincho Beach, Portugal with George Lazenby – who played 007 in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. This was a rare chance to visit one of the movie’s locations with the star of the film. It was a blast!
Interviewing Oscar-winning Visual Effects Supervisor Rob Legato on The Lion King for an upcoming MPC video. This is the second time I interviewed Rob – as usual he was very articulate and detailed about the amazing work he does.
A hard day’s work at the WB junket for RAMPAGE. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a true movie star and a very nice guy. Really glad I got to meet him…
Look who came for dinner! Shared a great meal and heard some amazing stories from the always entertaining George Lazenby. ONLY George could have stepped into Big Sean’s 007 shoes and he did a great job. Big thanks (TACK) to his manager, Anders Frejdh for making it happen.
Was proud to be asked to write the main article on You Only Live Twice by Cinema Retro magazine. Twice is an excellent film, with perhaps the best set design (that volcano crater) of ANY of the Bond films. Connery was at his prime and the producers spared no expense, showing a quaint, exotic Japan that largely doesn’t exist anymore. Many thanks to Lee and Dave from CR. The issue is in every Barnes & Noble in America, so grab a copy!

Double Wow! Ms. de Havilland’s TWO Best Actress Oscars – for To Each His Own (1946) and The Heiress (1949). I actually carried them through the streets of Paris for our shoot – an experience I’ll never forget!
Interviewing acclaimed cinematographer Steven Poster, also president of the ICG. Steve DP’d on some “small” films like Blade Runner, Donnie Darko, Close Encounters and The Box. He was a great guy and we had a great conversation!

After interviewing visual effects guru Rob Legato (Oscar winner for Titanic and Hugo), the crew and I grabbed a quick snap. Rob was amazing!
“That’s a wrap!” A post-interview photo with STAR WARS visual effects legend Richard Edlund. The crew and I were in awe of his stories working on “little” movies like Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Ghostbusters. (Yes, I asked him about the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man!)
