In 2013 I was hired by Electric Avenue Radio to create two websites for their top projects.  Previously I had written web copy for www.bbcamerica.com and Bloomberg’s e-commerce site.  Do I know how to format a website and write code? No. But I know people who do!  And I immediately reached out to my colleagues at Nitrous to plan the attack…

www.nicaeathemovie.com was aimed at creating awareness for their first feature film, “NICAEA” about the origins of the Counsel of Nicaea in 325 AD.  Working with Nitrous and site builder Pure Surface, we mapped it out and I wrote all the copy – from crew bios and plot synopsis to updates and the official trailer.                 .

The second site – www.investors4charity.com – combined crowdsourcing and fundraising in a unique site that showcased movie projects in need of funding while matching donations to selected charities.  Again we had to lay out the entire site, anticipating the user experience and reactions.  Along with all descriptive copy, I also wrote a Q&A section to answer basic questions about the site and uses.  As this was an entirely new concept and involved donations, I had a lot of discussions with the client to make sure the site accurately reflected his vision.
